New Video Highlights Why Mosquito Control Matters

In celebration of World Mosquito Day, held annually on August 20th, Gulf South VECTOR raises awareness of why mosquito control matters with a newly released video.

Sir Ronald Ross, a British physician, researcher, and Nobel laureate, is celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to the understanding of the malaria lifecycle. His discovery that female Anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria revolutionized scientific knowledge and public health.

Every day, mosquito abatement professionals use their skills to control populations and prevent vector-borne disease.

Gulf South VECTOR aims to forge a robust cooperative regional network while enhancing capacity and resources to vector-borne disease threats.
