The seven-part Public Health Education Webinar Series for Emergency Preparedness strengthens your knowledge of emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Presented by Gulf South VECTOR in partnership with the City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite, & Rodent Control Board and Health Department. Designed for public health professionals, emergency responders, vector control agencies, animal health specialists, and partner organizations, this series explores all-hazards emergency preparedness through expert-led discussions and real-world case studies.
Sessions cover the role of Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), public health coordination, mosquito and rodent control during emergencies, pet sheltering operations, and the importance of safety equipment and PPE for both response teams and the public. Participants will also examine lessons learned from major events including Zika virus response efforts, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
This multi-session series builds operational readiness, strengthens cross-agency collaboration, and provides practical guidance for managing complex emergencies affecting human, animal, and environmental health. All webinars are held virtually from 2:00–3:30 PM Central and recordings will be available on YouTube for later viewing.
