Vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, Lyme disease, and trypanosomiasis continue to pose major global health challenges, while effective vaccines, therapeutics, and control strategies remain limited. This conference will bring together researchers in vector biology, virology, bacteriology, and parasitology to explore the mechanisms that drive vector-pathogen interactions and their potential for informing new disease control approaches. The program will highlight advances in the biology, physiology, immunity, microbiota, and genomics of vectors including mosquitoes, ticks, and tsetse flies, while fostering collaboration among established and early-career scientists working to combat vector-borne diseases.
Featured Programming:
- Translating Lab Breakthroughs to the Field
- Mechanistic Insights into Vector Immunity
- Determinants of Arbovirus Transmission
- Controlling Transmission in Endemic Regions
- Visual Experimentation Workshop
- Halting Vector-Borne Disease Transmission
- Vector Physiology in Transmission
- Career Roundtable
